F.A.Q

1/ What is the youngest age someone can train at Jiu Jitsu Banbarians ?

Our kids classes are for 5 year olds to 12 year olds. With parental permission, individuals aged 13 and older can join our adult classes.

2/ Should I be in good shape before I try a class ?

In short, no. The classes are suitable for all fitness and experience levels. You are always encouraged to go at a pace you feel comfortable with.

3/ It's my first time coming to the club, what should I bring ?

If you have trained in BJJ or Judo before, you can bring your GI. However, if you don't own a GI just wear suitable sports clothing. BJJ is a very active sport, so please bring some water with you.

4/ What should I expect in my first lesson ?

All classes begin with a warm up using movements that enhance your Jiu Jitsu. Then I'll take you through some basic partner drills that are most commonly used in Jiu Jitsu. Next is the technique part of the class, where I'll break down the technique for the class to learn. Final part of the class is sparing, where students are able to practice what they learnt in a live environment.

5/ How do the belts work ?

The BJJ grading system is 100% performance based. This means there is no exams or grading fees. You are assessed on how well you do on your everyday training and can be rewarded a belt in a normal class.

6/ Is the class GI or no GI ?

Jiu Jitsu Banbarians are a GI based club but that is not to say in the future we may have no GI classes.

7/ How do I cancel my monthly membership ?

You can cancel your membership anytime yourself by using your bank app, via phone or going into the bank branch.
